In May 2019, direct elections for the European Parliament will be held. Since the first direct European elections in 1979, the first international election in history, the percentage of participation in voting has decreased significantly. In 1979 the participation rate was 61.99%, while in the last European elections of 2014 the participation rate was 42.61%. Moreover, younger generations of eligible voters are the most underrepresented constituency. The future of Europe is under construction and the importance of the youth vote cannot be underestimated.
On this basis, the European Dialogues project has launched a competition to promote the chance for young people themselves to be the ones to motivate other young people to vote through the creation of original videos. The time has come to share your artistic gifts and help build the future of Europe.
