e-Dialogues: Diversity.

Eduardo Casamayor

Presidente de ELSA (European Law Students Association)

As president, and above all, as a member of the local group of the University of Deusto European Law Students Association, ELSA Deusto, I had the great pleasure of attending the European Dialogues held on the Greek elections.

If I had to define my experience in one word, it would be diversity, since present was a convergence of various kinds, which led to an event with people of all ages, backgrounds and very different opinions, which undoubtedly contributed to an enriching experience, from both the presentations and the debate that followed.

As for the speakers, the opportunity to have such diverse profiles allowed for a multi-perspective approach to the epicenter of the Dialogues, the Greek elections, which in turn, and in my opinion, helped integrate the entire audience. Thus, it was possible to approach the problem from a philosophical, from a legal and from a political point of view.

Regarding the debate that ensued, the diversity of the talks and of the aforementioned audience, promulgated an equally diverse dialogue between the speakers and those who with questions. The questions and contributions allowed for a more abundant and at times, more precise discussion concerning the Greek elections and the framework of the European Union. This allowed for a release of questions and answers that, in my opinion, would be difficult to resolve by simply reading the news.

Therefore, I cannot but recognize how interesting and enriching those European Dialogues were for me, not only for the content itself, but also for the diversity and convergence of the audience and views.

Finally, I would like to thank Globernance for organizing the European Dialogues, as I find it an alternative and more direct approach for bringing the European reality to citizens, and in this case, something as important as the Greek elections; especially considering the limited accessibility of information on the topic discussed there. As a citizen, I consider it an opportunity that I appreciate having been able to enjoy.
